About

A city where every building is a product

Product directories are long lists, and a long list rewards whoever got there first. Bitlands puts indie products on floating islands instead. You walk the streets, see what stands next to what, and step into a storefront when a building catches your eye.

How it works

A building appears from €5 or $5. Every kind of project gets its own kind of building: a shop for a product, a relay tower for an API, a plaza for a community.

A founder can pay once to build their tower higher. What a listing has paid in total is its height and its rank, so the city shows at a glance who is betting on their product. Nobody has built up yet, so the top spot is open.

Every week, billboards, showcases, the featured arrival spot and the unclaimed islands go to auction. The highest bid wins and only the winner pays. Placements are always labelled sponsored.

People are not the only visitors. The same catalog is public over REST and MCP, so an agent can ask which products do invoicing, what they cost and how to connect, and get an answer it can act on.
